PANAMA hats
Panama hats are one of the most remarkable creations of technique and tradition. They are made from the leaves of the palm tree, known as PAJA TOQUILLA PALM. The raw material comes from Ecuador, the home of this amazing art, where native artisans weave the leaves at a primary stage.
The final shape and decoration of each hat is formed with love and experience in Spain. Each Panama hat has a seal of authenticity inside that confirms its origin in Ecuador.
The name "Panama" has two true versions, which reflect the historical and cultural importance of these hats. During the mid-19th century the hats were sold to gold miners traveling through Panama to California during the historic Gold Rush era. At the same time, artisans from Ecuador immigrated to Panama, where they also managed to achieve great commercial success. Travelers, enthralled by the elegance of the hats, referred to them as "Panama hats", thus strengthening their connection to the region.
In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt visited Panama to oversee the construction of the Panama Canal, further strengthening the Panama Hats' connection to the region. Thus, the name "Panama" gained international recognition and prestige, filling with history and culture every hat worn with pride by its owner.

To find your exact size, take a plastic measuring tape and place it around your head, preferably one centimeter above your ears.
There are cases when some people prefer their hat to stand higher on the forehead, so an ideal measurement is the one that satisfies your personal tastes.
To make sure you got a proper measurement, make two to three attempts and pull the measuring tape loosely. If your measurement produces a decimal number, choose the one that corresponds to the next integer (eg if your measurement is 57.5 cm, prefer the number 58 and so on).
